Kletscafé Brandevoort (donderdag)

Many of the internationals in Brandevoort feel the need to learn to speak Dutch a little bit better.

We are going to do something about this by setting up 'chat cafés'. And the first Dutch word you will have to remember is the translation for chat café, which is ‘kletscafé’. From now on, whenever you see this word, you know what it is about.

We invite everyone in Brandevoort who is a speaker of any other language than Dutch, to visit our kletscafé.

We will talk with you about the day-to-day-things in life. Like shopping at our own local mall. Or about going to the doctor, dentist or physiotherapist. About schools, football, and other events. And of course, very important, we will talk about food. About the food in the Netherlands, like zuurkool, haring, boterhammen met hagelslag. And of course about the food in your own country. Because, what would we be without food?

What we will not do: to learn Dutch grammar, to speak perfectly well Dutch sentences.

Everything will be in Dutch. Most important is that it will be fun, that you connect with other people and make new friends – from which country whatsoever.

The kletscafé will be run by Kansrijk-Brandevoort, an organisation you may already know. During the kletscafé sessions we’ll tell you more..

The kletscafé will be each Wednesday 10:30 am and each Thursday at 8:00 pm

We will start on Wednesday August 26, then Thursday August 27. During school holidays we are closed.

On Wednesday in ‘t BrandPunt, on Thursday in Opjeplaets, next to AH.

You have to be >18 years old to participate.

There are volunteers (vrijwilligers! - important word) who will lead the conversations and who are very friendly and eager to help you to become at least a little bit more Dutchies.

So please feel most welcome at the kletscafé, starting on August 26 and 27. And bring a friend or a member of the family. The more the merrier. And the first cup of coffee or tea is on us!
