Stichting Brandevoort in Actie (SBiA) is not a hierarchical organization. It is a facilitative network in which affiliated organizations always retain their own responsibilities and authorities. The affiliated groups remain independent and are not accountable to SBiA. Availability of resources and support is based primarily on customization. Below, the general provisions are described. Groups that are not a legal entity themselves (a legal entity being a foundation, association, etc.) may, upon joining SBiA, make use of SBiA’s legal entity status and (if desired) use a bank account (a so-called zero-account) via the treasurer. Because this entails considerable costs for SBiA, the issuance of such accounts is handled restrictively. Transaction costs of the bank account must be covered by the groups themselves. Volunteers are insured for liability (WA) through the agreements SBiA has with the Municipality and the LEV group.
