Kindervakantieweek Brandevoort – full of fun and connection

Kindervakantieweek Brandevoort is an initiative that gives children from the Brandevoort neighborhood a full week of sports, games, and creative activities.

We aim to connect children and let them engage with each other in a social and playful way.

With a team of about forty volunteers, we work nearly ten months a year to create a varied program full of experience, challenge, and fun.

The week always takes place during the first week of the summer holidays, from Monday to Friday, and is meant for children in grades 1 through 8 of the primary schools in Brandevoort.

About us

We are Kindervakantieweek Brandevoort, an organization that gives its all every year to create an unforgettable summer week for the neighborhood’s primary school children.

Our strength lies in the involvement of volunteers: parents, grandparents, and neighbors who together ensure a safe, familiar, and cheerful environment.

Children are guided by people from their own neighborhood, which naturally creates recognition, a sense of security, and connection.

What began as a local initiative has grown into a week the entire neighborhood looks forward to — a fixed summer moment full of energy, cooperation, and joy.

A week full of activities

During Kindervakantieweek, children enjoy five days full of adventure, creativity, and sportsmanship.

Each day has its own theme with various activities: craft workshops, sports and games, theater, music, and outdoor challenges.

The week starts and ends with shared moments full of enthusiasm, singing, or dancing, creating a true sense of togetherness.

People and community

Kindervakantieweek is entirely run by volunteers.

Participants are children who live in Brandevoort or attend school there, and even the youngest — those who turned four before January 1 of that year — can join.

New participants are warmly welcomed, with regular group leaders ensuring a safe and friendly atmosphere.

Together we form an engaged community: from preparation to execution, fun, teamwork, and positivity are at the heart of everything.

It’s not just a children’s holiday week, but also a moment when Brandevoort comes together as a community.

Participate, help, or collaborate

Participation: For each participating child, a parent, grandparent, or guardian (18+) helps out at least one day — as a group leader, game leader, or in a support role.

Group registration: Parents can form groups of 7 to 10 children, guided by two adults per day.

When registering, you indicate which day you will help; the organization reserves the right to rearrange groups if needed.

Volunteers: Everyone in the neighborhood is welcome to help. Through the volunteer form, you can easily indicate on which days and with which tasks you want to participate.

Collaboration: We love to collaborate with local organizations and sponsors — for example, by sharing materials, locations, expertise, or volunteers.

Together we strengthen the neighborhood and make Kindervakantieweek possible.

Communication: During the week, we keep everyone informed through our own app with news, photos, and updates.

We are also active on social media, where we share the atmosphere and highlights of the week.

Kindervakantieweek Brandevoort is more than just a week full of activities: it’s a meeting place where fun, creativity, and connection come together.
